The Oranjehof is an apartment building that offered living space to 148 single women. The building plan is the final piece of the Geuzenhof complexes, built by Bouwbedrijf H. van Saane, comprising of about 750 homes. The construction project was given a special purpose, namely a building for single, working women. Despite the limited size of the apartments, about 24 square meters, and guest rooms, it was comfortable to live in the Oranjehof. The building offered many shared amenities and spaces, communal kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms, and laundry spaces. They also had access to a small supermarket within the complex, reserved for residents. While not groundbreaking in terms of feminism, buildings such as the Oranjehof are still interesting for the separationist idea.
