This database is at the beginning of this website. All the entries are labelled either "spaces" or "spatial practice". I have to remind that two are blurred and continuously informing each other. However, I wish to provide maybe a bit more clarification on how I envision these two subjects.
"Spaces" accounts mostly for projects that try to use an existing frame of architecture and design to model it to changed needs. It's using mainstream tools to arrive at something unexpected. If we think about women's shelters, community houses, separationist housing, all these typologies are still using and perpatuating mechanisms of architecture. They offer insight on what we could do within the limits of legislation, rules and permits of today's architecture.
"Spatial practice" however is mostly for imagined projects that aim to find a new frame, new ways of living, or new tools. The intention was to display ventures of building otherwise. It's about proposing new ways to build and design together.
